Eagles Joins Owls 26/7/05

Young United midfielder Chris Eagles has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a
five-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old had a successful loan spell with Watford last season, and
will gain further experience in the Championship under the guidance of Paul
Sturrock at Hillsborough.
The Owls gained promotion from Football League One last term through the
Play-Offs. A difficult season lies ahead for the former Premiership outfit.
Eagles has reached the point where Reserve team football is no longer a
sufficient enough challenge, but isn't quite ready to become a regular in the
first-team.
Sir Alex Ferguson insisted last season that such players would need to be
loaned out to test them at an important stage of their development.
Jonathan Spector has already joined Charlton on a year-long loan, while new
goalkeeper Ben Foster, who joined last week from Stoke City, is also expected
to gain experience with a Championship club.

又一個潛力小將被租出去了
老實說我們這樣的青訓系統到底正不正確
實在很有問題...
租給較低等級的聯賽固然可以磨練小將的上場經驗
可是相對地也比較不能受到比較好的訓練
而且在較低等級聯賽所得到的經驗在英超裡到底值多少錢?
實在都是問題...
看著過去的小將們一個個地成名-->租出去-->漸趨平凡-->低價賣出或直接release
實在是亂心酸的...
Chadwick Timm等...
還有今天友誼賽有上場的Steele和Richardson也是岌岌可危
這些在過去幾年都是曾經傳出過將是明日之星的的小夥子
還沒發光發亮就殞落了...
希望小Eagles不要步上這些前輩們的後塵阿!!
