Manchester United are set to clinch a deal for Olympique Lyon midfield ace
Mahamadou Diarra next week.
AS says the Mali international's agent, Frederic Guerra, will travel to
Manchester next week to close a deal for the midfielder.
United have already struck an agreement with Lyon over a ￡20 million fee and
club officials hope to close personal terms with Guerra in a scheduled meeting
on Monday.
The Premiership giants have beaten Real Madrid and Inter Milan for Diarra,
rated the best young defensive midfielder on the continent.

Mahamadou Diarra's agent has hinted Manchester United are ready to move
for the Lyon midfielder.
The Mali star has been linked with a possible move from Lyon for some
time after impressing at Stade Gerland for the last few seasons.
The likes of United, Real Madrid and Internazionale are all thought to
be big admirers of the all-action midfielder.
Diarra is believed to be United's top summer transfer target as they seek
a replacement for Roy Keane.
Speculation has intensified over an imminent move for Diarra with United
boss Sir Alex Ferguson thought to be planning to travel to France to watch
the midfielder in action this weekend against Le Mans.
Diarra's agent Frederic Guerra has rejected claims he is set to meet with
United officials to discuss a move and ruled out Real Madrid making any
attempts to sign the player.
"The Spanish press is wrong, I won't go to Manchester on Monday," said
Guerra.
"Maybe they want to put pressure on Real Madrid, but I think they are not
interested.
"I haven't an appointment with Sir Alex Ferguson, I don't know if he is
going to Lyon this weekend.
"You know great clubs, members of G14 respect the Fifa rules.
"Manchester United, Internazionale and Real Madrid are loyal, they won't
call me before May 15th.
"I think Real Madrid are not interested, they have director problems, so
they don't have anybody at the club to talk about transfers for the moment.
"If Manchester United want to call me, it is easy to have my phone number.
"They are a loyal club, so they won't start negotiating before the official
date.
"Clubs like this act officially, they follow the rules."

英超已經結束，但法甲則還有最後一輪，曼聯主帥弗格森趁著這個時間差，準備在
本週末前往法國，觀看冠軍里昂本賽季最後一輪比賽。弗爵爺的目標，不用說人們都知
道只有馬裡後腰迪亞拉。
曼聯對迪亞拉的興趣現在只要是球迷都會知道，根據預期，紅魔很快就會為馬裡國
腳開出報價，來自西班牙的消息指出，另外一支對迪亞拉有興趣的豪門皇馬董事已經承
認，在對這位歐洲最紅後腰的競爭中，曼聯機會更大。
在法甲聯賽最後一輪，里昂的對手是勒芒，法國媒體預測，弗格森此行的目的不僅
僅是看球這麼簡單。比賽結束後，他就有可能把報價放在蓋蘭德球場(里昂主場)辦公室
的桌面上。甚至有消息指，曼聯已經與里昂在2000萬鎊的價格上達成一致，現在只差與
迪亞拉討論合同待遇問題。馬德里的《阿斯報》則披露，迪亞拉的經紀人古埃拉下周就
會飛往曼徹斯特，他將在週一與曼聯高層開會，商談合同相關問題。
不過迪亞拉的轉會是不是這麼簡單還很難說，因為里昂主席奧拉不是個容易應付的

。他的工作方式總是別樹一格，不過不得不承認他的點子很管用。他不喜歡他面對媒體
的方式，當他公開指出他對我和我的球隊在和裡爾比賽時的表現讓他感到遺憾時，我覺
得自己沒有受到應有的尊重，要知道我們已經拿到80分，是冠軍。」
「這就像一個公司的董事不支持他的管理人員，球員們的感覺也是如此。我更希望
他在更衣室裡說這些問題，而在記者面前維護球隊。」
奧拉在去年埃辛轉會和這個賽季迪亞拉轉會問題上表現出的態勢，讓人們有這樣一
個明顯的印象，他是個惟利是圖的人。
另外，根據英國《獨立報》報道，曼聯和阿森納都打算與熱刺爭奪保加利亞射手貝
爾巴托夫。昨天德甲勒沃庫森俱樂部確認，熱刺已經答應支付他們提出的1070萬鎊轉會
費，但英國媒體披露，紅魔和槍手也都已經向德國人提出報價。
