Spurs Dismiss United's Bid For Carrick
Tottenham have confirmed they have rejected a bid from United for
midfielder Michael Carrick.
The Reds are reported to have faxed a ￡10million offer for the
England international who is currently on World Cup duty in Germany.
"We can confirm we have rejected a bid from Manchester United for Michael
Carrick," said a Spurs spokeswoman on Saturday afternoon.
"Michael Carrick is a player we are not looking to sell."
Sir Alex Ferguson has been scouring the transfer market for a replacement
for Roy Keane who left the club last November.
It is believed that an offer of around ￡15m could seal a deal for
24-year-old Carrick, who joined Spurs from West Ham in August 2004
for ￡2.75m.
United are not expected to make any comment about their bid.
