弗格森指出曼聯20年最強一人：坎通納吉格斯都不如他

下個星期二，前曼聯隊中場球星羅伊-基恩將會回到老特拉福德球場，舉行自己的告
別賽，參賽雙方是曼聯和凱爾特人，在這一動情的時刻來臨之前，曼聯隊主教練弗格森
向基恩表達了敬意，他表示，基恩是他這20多年來執教過這麼多人裡最好的一個。
弗格森說：「我想，無論什麼時候，當有人挑選曼聯歷史上的最佳陣容時，基恩都
會被選上的。這麼多年過去了，如果要看過去幾十年，那麼羅布森、基恩、斯科爾斯、鄧
肯-愛德華茲等人都會被選上。」
弗格森還特別指出，34歲的基恩是他20多年來帶過的最好的球員。他說：「人們以
前總是問我，為什麼你老是說，羅伊-基恩是你曾經擁有過的最好的一個？」
「他比坎通納、斯科爾斯或者吉格斯還要出色嗎？當然，如果比較天賦的話，他不
如這些球員，甚至有很大的差距，但毫無疑問，基恩對勝利的渴求、對其他球員的 領導
力以及一種天生的勝利者素質，讓他成為更衣室裡最具影響的球員。」
「因為這些素質，他成為了一位偉大的隊長，在我看來，如果將所有的素質都放在
一起比較，基恩是我最好的球員。」
弗格森回顧了基恩在曼聯效力的日子，他認為，1999年冠軍杯半決賽，客場對尤文圖
斯的比賽，是基恩在曼聯最好的表現之一。當時曼聯在客場先丟兩球，但基恩的頭球破門
扭轉了頹勢，並帶動隊友反敗為勝，以總分4比3淘汰了對手。
在基恩離開曼聯前，有傳言稱，他與弗格森的關係出現了裂痕，兩人發生了矛盾，對
此，弗格森說：「有很多傳言，我們不想去理會，但是，我和基恩有著非常好的合作，我
們一起擁有11年的美好回憶。」
1993年，弗格森花費了375萬英鎊，從諾丁漢森林隊將基恩買下，結果為曼聯帶來了

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Roy Keane was
his best-ever player due to the influence he had on the squad.
While the Scottish tactician acknowledges a number of his stars have
possessed more talent, Keane had something that separated him from the
others.
Fergie believes Keane's ability to motivate his team-mates in the dressing
room made him far more valuable than the likes of Eric Cantona and company.
"He is a fantastic player," stated Ferguson on his ex-skipper, who know
plays for SPL outfit Celtic.
"People used to say to me 'why do you always say Roy Keane was your best
player?'. After all, there have been the likes of Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes
and Ryan Giggs.
"Of course he wasn't as talented as those players. But without question
his obsession with winning, the demands he put on other players and his
desire to win football matches made him the most influential players in
the dressing room, no question.
"He became a good captain through that. To my mind he was the best players
in all my time here, fantastic."
