Wigan的主席Dave Whelan希望Fergie能執教英格蘭隊

"I'm not against England having a foreign manager," Whelan told the Daily
Mirror. "But I do want somebody with some passion for the English team and
for English pride.

"The answer to the question of whether Fergie could be the England coach is
that Fergie could be the manager of any team in the world.

"If we could get Alex into the FA as director of football when he decides to
retire from Manchester United, we would be absolutely over the moon with
something like that.

"He has his Scottish heritage and he's proud of it but football is such a big
game and he's such a big figure in it that he would be an asset for us."

嚇人一跳的消息來了

"We were very close to signing Michael Owen," said Whelan. "If Newcastle had
not done the deal, he was coming here. That was agreed with his agent. 

"We would have released him at Christmas or at the end of the season if
someone had come in for him."

Wigan，真的不是普通的升班馬啊！
