爵爺堅信愛徒克服眼疾 預言斯科爾斯將重回巔峰

由於視力障礙，自從去年12月戰平伯明翰的比賽之後，前英格蘭國腳保羅-斯科爾
斯曾經缺陣長達4個月之久。這位曼聯中場球星承認，他的視力問題也許很難根治，但
他的老師、紅魔主帥弗格森卻對愛徒恢復狀態很有信心，弗爵爺宣稱他確信斯科爾斯下
賽季將像一位剛加盟球隊的新人一樣生猛。
斯科爾斯在上賽季英超最後一輪4-0大勝查爾頓的比賽中，已經重返球場踢了下半
場，而曼聯將7月於前往南非進行賽前熱身，他已經得到醫生批准可以上場比賽，弗格
森期待斯科爾斯能在這個夏天逐漸找回狀態。
弗格森聲稱，雖然人們都認為球隊這個夏天肯定要加強中場實力，但斯科爾斯的回
歸比買新球員更加重要。「我們有信心他下賽季會回來，」弗格森在曼聯官方雜誌上指

Scholes Tipped To Regain Best Form
Sir Alex Ferguson believes Paul Scholes can reach peak form for the Reds
next season.
The United manager is searching for a defensive midfielder in the transfer
market to play alongside the fit-again Salfordian.
So far that search has proved fruitless, but one certainty as far as Sir
Alex is concerned is that United will benefit from the return to form of
Scholes, who missed four months of 2005/06 campaign with a serious eye
injury.
"We're convinced he'll be back next season," said Sir Alex. "He's a
sensational player, one of the best I've ever had."
Scholes made his comeback on the final day of the season as a second-half
substitute in the 4-0 win over Charlton. His last appearance before that
was in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham on 28 December.
The Reds boss admits it must have been a worrying time for the midfielder.
"It was an injury we've never been used to," he told the latest issue of
United magazine. "It must have been worrying Paul because when you've got
a problem with blurred vision and nobody can really give you a reason for
it, then it's a concern."
Scholes visited two specialists to determine what the problem was. In the
end, rest was the prognosis. But he wasn't expected back until the start
of 2006/07, so being named on the bench came as something of a surprise.
"Fortunately he got back into training, he played the second half of the
last game of the season against Charlton and he did very well."
In truth, the 31-year-old midfielder has not consistently rediscovered
the form he showed in arguably his finest season at the club - the 2002/03
title-winning campaign - when he scored 20 goals and made a fair share
of Ruud van Nistelrooy's 44 strikes.
The Reds are hoping his recent return will come as a boost for the player
and United's midfield department.
