Ferguson tips Keane for greatness

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Roy Keane to be a big
success in management.

"Roy will go on to be a manager, there is no question about that,"

"He is very driven, a great influence and very determined.

"When I look at that I can see myself in Roy and Roy in me.

"He was fantastic to me, the best player I had, but I now see him
 going on to the next stage in his career and that is becoming a manager."

Keane left United in November 2005 after 12-and-a-half years at Old Trafford
and signed an 18-month deal with Celtic in December.

Ferguson added that the decision to part with a player with whom he had such
a close association was incredibly difficult.

"When you have guys who have given you such fantastic service it is tough
 when the time comes to say goodbye," added Ferguson.

"It was time to go, it was time to part and the problem is when you fall in
 love with one of your players because of what they've done with you.

"Players almost become like family but when you get to that age they you have
 to make that terrible decision and change things."

自解基恩離隊之謎 弗格森：這是個可怕的決定

    曼聯主帥弗格森表示去年讓基恩離開老特拉福德是一個「可怕的決定」，但是弗格
森還表示年齡是決定基恩離開曼聯的主要原因。


    曼聯前隊長基恩在去年11月炮轟球隊表現不佳，點名批評了多名曼聯的年輕球員，引
發了「紅魔」的更衣室危機，在不久之後曼聯俱樂部就宣佈與這位愛爾蘭鐵漢解除合同，
最終基恩選擇了蘇格蘭聯賽的凱爾特人作為自己的新東家。基恩的年齡逐漸偏大以及力量
衰退是弗格森決定放棄他的主要要求，但是在這位中場核心離隊之後，弗格森未能找到適
合的代替者。


    儘管基恩離隊對曼聯造成極大的影響，但是弗格森強調球隊現在必須繼續前進，重新
建造一支沒有基恩的球隊是當務之急。弗格森在接受太陽報採訪時說道：「當你擁有基恩
的時候他總是會給你帶來驚喜，要跟他說再見真的非常困難。到時間離開了，但是問題是
你真的很喜歡你的隊員，因為他們為你付出了許多。隊員們之間就像一家人，但是當一名
隊員到達一定年齡的時候，你就必須作出一個可怕的決定，球隊必須進行改革，這是因為
俱樂部的利益是高於一切的。年齡困擾著每一位球員，因此隨著球員年齡的增大，他們就
越來越接近自己職業生涯的末期，隨著年齡增長，他們不得不離開球場。在過去我曾經重
建過球隊四到五次，你必須在球隊需要改革時作出決定，而我們最近正是處於改革期。」


    對於基恩對曼聯作出的貢獻，弗格森一直都給予這位前隊長最高的敬意，弗格森還認
為基恩在結束職業生涯之後一定會從事足球教練的工作，弗格森補充說道：「羅伊（基恩
）將會成為一名教練，這一點毫無疑問。他是一個很有影響力以及決心的人，當我望著他
的時候我能夠從他身上看到我的影子，而我身上也有他的影子。毫無疑問他是我教過的最
出色的球員之一，現在我看著他的職業生涯走向另一個舞台然後他將會成為一名教練。」
