England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has insisted that under-pressure manager
Sir Alex Ferguson is still the right man for Manchester United.
易利信堅信Fergie仍然是曼聯最適當教練人選。
"You should absolutely not criticise Sir Alex Ferguson because of everything
he's done at the club," Eriksson told Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme.
就憑他為球隊的貢獻，實在不該遭致批評。
"He has been fantastic. Year on year, United compete at the highest level.
他一直很棒，曼聯一年接著一年在最高級別競爭。
"All teams dip now and then. United will come back quickly and Ferguson will
come back very quickly for sure."
曼聯很快便將回升，Fergie也是。
Meanwhile, Eriksson has expressed his confidence in England qualifying from
their group at the 2006 World Cup after Friday's draw.
同時易利信對世界盃深具信心。
England will face Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago and Paraguay - and Eriksson said:
"It was rather a good draw for us.
"咱們的籤運不錯。"
"Compared to the last World Cup it's a much better draw. I feel we'll go
through.

"After England I'd like Sweden to win the World Cup but when England play
them I'm English not Swedish. It's not hard because I want to win."

Eriksson added that the he felt the extra week's preparation England will
have at the end of the season, compared with previous major tournaments,
may prove crucial.

"We have been fighting very hard to have four weeks preparation instead of
three, which was what we had at the last World Cup - and we've achieved that,"
said the Swede.

"That will be very important. We have one more week to rest and prepare and
that's very important."

Eriksson is set to decide on who England will play in friendlies ahead of
next year's tournament in Germany.

"There are a lot of requests from teams who want to play England and that is
something we will decide this week," he stated.

"We are trying to find similar sides to those we will meet in the World Cup.
