Rooney Defends Goal Celebration
Wayne Rooney defended the enthusiastic celebration
which followed his opening goal against Newcastle at St James' Park.
The England striker, who was voted man of the match on Sky,
was chastised by the channel's touchline reporter Geoff Shreeves
in his post-match interview.
But Rooney maintained that he was simply excited after scoring
the crucial first goal of a must-win clash. Here's what was said...
United's Display 曼聯的表現
"The way Newcastle played in the first hour was brilliant,
they put us under a lot of pressure and I thought they deserved to be
ahead probably. Then we got the goal, sat back a bit
and managed to get the second goal."
A Good Record Against Newcastle Rooney沒意識到我們對Newcastle的常勝紀錄:P
"I don't know really. They're obviously just one of those teams
I enjoy playing against."
Pouncing On Boumsoung's Error 把握住Boumsoung的失誤
"I saw the ball in the air and knew it was going to be
a difficult bounce so I just gambled and luckily it paid off."
Enthusiastic Celebration 激動的進球慶祝動作
"Well I've just scored a goal in the Premiership so I was excited.
Scoring in the Premiership's still a thrill from my first goal
right through every goal I score now.
I was excited, I'd just scored a goal."
The 4-3-3 Formation
"It's ok, it's a challenge and hard work.
It's working and I feel fitter now."
Good Form Going Into International Break
"Definitely. We've got two massive games coming up now for England.
I feel fit, I think I'm in good form and hopefully I can carry it on
to the international stage."
