WES Brown and Kieran Richardson return to boost Manchester United for
their Premiership trip to Middlesbrough.
The England duo both came through the midweek Carling Cup win over Barnet
unscathed and are added to a squad lacking Ryan Giggs (fractured cheekbone),
Roy Keane (broken foot), Gabriel Heinze (knee), Quinton Fortune (knee) and
Gary Neville (groin).
Louis Saha is also missing, although scans have revealed no tear to the
hamstring he damaged in training on Tuesday.
Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren has an embarrassment of riches in attack
but must take on United without experienced centre-backs Gareth Southgate
and Ugo Ehiogu.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s former sidekick is missing skipper Southgate (groin)
and his long-term partner, who limped out of Wednesday’s Carling Cup win
at Everton with a knee injury.
Franck Queudrue, Emanuel Pogagtetz and Matthew Bates will be considered
to partner in-form Chris Riggott, while Stewart Downing (knee), Tony McMahon
(shoulder), Malcolm Christie (foot) and Ray Parlour (knee) will not be
available before Christmas.
