Important brave save at the feet of Cahill when Reds held
slender lead

Rafael: 6
Excellent first half against Cahill but was beaten a number of times
in second

Brown: 7
Everton had brute force up front but only once was he in trouble

Vidic: 7
A welcome strong comeback from the Serb against tough strike force

Evra: 9
The left back was excellent putting Everton on back foot with a series
of penetrating runs 

Valencia: 7
The Ecuadorian always put his marker Baines in danger whenever he
was on ball

Carrick: 6
A steady partner to Fletcher and struck his goal in the same
uncomplicated way

Fletcher: 9
Got United going when they needed it with a superb strike and all
round busy effort 

Giggs: 6
Peripheral figure for a very long time then he set up Carrick's goal
and improved

Owen: 6
Various attempts to worm his way through Everton ranks but nothing
really came off

Rooney: 6
Chuffed about a lot and Everton defenders couldn't rest but he didn't
test Howard
