last four league games with a broken arm.
Owen Hargreaves featured for the reserves on Thursday but remains some weeks
away from a first-team return.
Liverpool winger Albert Riera has been left out of the squad after
criticising manager Rafa Benitez.
Martin Skrtel and Fabio Aurelio are both injured, while Alberto Aquilani is
struggling with a sickness bug.

MATCH PREVIEW
- Fifty-three weeks have passed since Liverpool's scintillating 4-1 win at
Old Trafford last season. It was a triumph that briefly looked to have
swung the title Liverpool's way, but ultimately proved a mere blip for
United as they equalled Liverpool's record total of 18 league titles.
- One year on, United are on course to surpass Liverpool's long-standing
benchmark. That is justification alone for Liverpool fans to want three
points against their old foes.
- Liverpool's Albert Riera has accused Rafa Benitez of being in charge of a
"sinking ship". He was suspended by the club for his outburst, but even
Benitez is no longer guaranteeing that Liverpool will finish fourth, as he
famously did in December.
- He now simply insists his side will "try to be in the top four." A fourth
successive league win over United could certainly be the catalyst for that
to happen.
- Fernando Torres, who turns 26 the day before this game, has been the
figurehead for Liverpool's success against the champions in the past,
flustering Nemanja Vidic to the extent that the Serb defender has been
sent off in the last three meetings between the clubs.
- United, of course, boast their own lethal forward. Wayne Rooney's 25th
league goal of the season against Fulham saw him equal Ruud van Nistelrooy's
best ever Premier League season's tally for United. Rooney has scored 13
goals in all competitions in his last seven games at Old Trafford.

tipped Chelsea at the start of the season, but if someone would let me change

I expect Benitez will play a flat back eight! The thing for Liverpool is that
Torres is starting to look really sharp and dangerous and he frightens
United.
