 TEAM NEWS 

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand may start following a three-minute
cameo against Sunderland last time out.

Owen Hargreaves also came off the bench in that game for his first appearance
since September 2008 and will be hoping for an extended run-out on Sunday.

But winger Antonio Valencia has been ruled out with an ankle injury. 

Stoke manager Tony Pulis has no fresh injury concerns and may name the same
team that beat Fulham on Wednesday.

 MATCH PREVIEW 

- After this most unpredictable of seasons, Manchester United are praying for
  one final plot twist.

- Sir Alex Ferguson's side go into the final day of the season with the title
  destiny out of their control. Any hopes of a record 19th league crown rely
  on neighbours Wigan springing a surprise at Chelsea, coupled with a United
  victory over Stoke.

- The reigning champions have paid the price for losing control of the title
  race, with last month's home defeat to Chelsea and the subsequent draw with
  Blackburn the results that look like costing them their crown.

- United, of course, are no strangers to final-day drama. Three of their
  Premier League titles have been won on the last day of the season, but on
  each occasion Ferguson's men were in the driving seat. In 1995, United went
  into the final day trailing Blackburn by two points, but could only draw with
  West Ham despite Rovers' defeat at Liverpool.

- Stoke's season has been another of steady improvement. The Potters surpassed
  the 45 points they registered in 2008/09 with a 1-0 victory against Fulham on
  Wednesday, and could finish as high as ninth if results go their way.

‧ The Potters' last league victory over United came on Boxing Day 1984 at
   the old Victoria Ground.

‧ Man Utd have won nine of the last 11 league meetings with Stoke without
