Nothing much to do. The Dutchman probably would have had Geovanni goal
but for deflection off Vidic
Brown - 5
Couldn’t keep Petrov quiet legally but at least did attack with some
purpose
Ferdinand - 6
Lone attacker Mpenza didn’t cause him any serious problems but got
frustrated late on
Vidic - 6
Had he attacked Geovanni with his usual vigour he might have stopped
opener. An aerial threat for Reds
Evra - 6
Got himself into decent attacking situations but final effort spoilt
the promise
Nani - 6
The Portuguese winger took his first derby in stride. With more
coolness could have been a hero
Hargreaves - 5
In the side to protect the back four but the new boy wasn’t
around when it mattered for City’s goal
Carrick - 6
His mixture of simple and adventurous passing should have brought
more reward for the Reds
Scholes - 5
Normally he is a pain in backside for Blues on derby day but wasn’t
his usual self
Giggs - 7
His killer low crosses put City on tons of toruble and would have been
gobbled up if Reds had had a predator on form
Tevez - 6
Had a tough battle taking on giants Richards and Dunne but he kept at
it. Needs a goal
