Not much to concern him but punting high balls was imaginative
distribution when there were no big guys up front
Brown: 6
Had a decent game with nobody really getting past him on his flank
Ferdinand: 7
Slightly the more troubled by the power and aggression of Yakubu
and Johnson but they never won the day
Vidic: 8
Was a rock at centre of defence against a tough duo and came up with
the winner
Silvestre: 5
Had trouble with keeping tabs on Arteta and finally it was his
undoing as he fell awkwardly trying to deal with him
Ronaldo: 5
Only rare glimpses of the threat United have been missing during his
ban
Scholes: 7
Did more than anyone to provide the much needed spark for the Reds
Carrick: 5
Shoot on sight policy started well but he faded as a serious danger
Evra: 6
Adventurous as a left winger but naturally became subdued when moved
back
Giggs: 5
Never really looked the part as a front man and in fairness never saw
much of ball on a frustrating afternoon

Most of his good work was done too deep. Hardly saw whites of keeper's eyes
