Blackburn are likely to be without goalkeeper Paul Robinson who is struggling
to shake off a calf injury.
Vince Grella is also a doubt, while Benni McCarthy is back in training but is
unlikely to start.
Wayne Rooney is a doubt for Manchester United after injuring his ankle in the
midweek European win at Aalborg.
Paul Scholes was carried off in that match with medial ligament damage and
joins Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick on the sidelines.

BIG-MATCH FACTS
* Paul Ince trades tactics with his old mentor Sir Alex Ferguson for the
first time as a fellow Premier League manager. The Blackburn boss is one
of four former Manchester United team-mates now in charge of top-flight
clubs; Mark Hughes (Manchester City), Roy Keane (Sunderland) and Steve
Bruce (Wigan) being the others.
* Both these clubs have won their last three games in all competitions.
* United are hoping history continues to repeat itself. The Red Devils have
eight points after five games as they did 12 months ago, but they then did
not drop a point for a further six matches last term in registering an
eight-game winning streak.
* Rovers have conceded three times as many goals as United (12 to four), yet
find themselves four places higher in the table.
* Between them, these two clubs have already been shown 31 cards in Premier
League competition this season; the two worst records in the league.
* Blackburn have won one, drawn one and lost one of their three home league
games; Manchester United have won one, drawn one and lost one of their
three away.
* Manchester United have managed just one win at Ewood Park in their last
eight visits since 1999; that being 0-1 on 11 November 2006 when Louis
Saha got the winner.
* Blackburn have dropped more points (61) and conceded more goals (49) to
Manchester United than any other club in the Premier League.
* Distance between the clubs: 25 miles (40 kilometres)
Manchester United will be making the shortest journey of any Premier
League club this weekend.
CLUB FORM
1. Chasing consecutive victories for the first time in this Premier League
season.
2. Conceded just four league goals so far; at one every 113 minutes it makes
them the fourth strongest defence in the highest league.

stalemate, home to Reading on the opening day of last season, 12 August
2007, being the most recent.
4. On the longest current sequence of 29 Premier League matches since they
failed to score; the 1-0 defeat away to Bolton on 24 November 2007 being
the last occasion.
5. Also on the longest current run in the highest league of 83 matches since
a loss by more than a single goal; 3-0, away to Chelsea on 29 April 2006.
6. Holding the third highest Premier League points return in 2008 with 50;
Chelsea have 58 points and Liverpool 53.
