BIG-MATCH FACTS
- The quintuple is still on for Manchester United , but they've made it a good
deal harder for themselves. They will have to achieve what no other English
club has managed, and win at FC Porto next week if they're to make the last
four of the Champions League, and by the time this match with Sunderland
kicks off they could have been knocked off the top of the Premier League
table again.
- Sunderland take on the defending champions, in danger of tumbling to four
successive defeats for the first time in the Premier League since March 2006.
- The recent unfamiliar occurrence of back-to-back league defeats, has tended
to mask the fact that Manchester United have won 12 of their last 14
top-flight outings, and have a match in hand as they bid for a hat-trick of
Premier League titles, an 11th in this league and a record equalling 18th
English top-flight crown.
- Manchester United are unbeaten in 13 Premier League matches against
Sunderland, winning the last three.
- No club has gained more Premier League points against Sunderland than
Manchester United's 36, and no club has scored more goals in this league
against the Black Cats than United's 35.
- Distance between the clubs: 149 miles (239 kilometres)

Lawro's predictions Sunderland 1-2 Man Utd
The teams that have attacked Manchester United in the last few weeks -
Fulham, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Porto - have got a lot of joy out of them
and scored lots of goals. But will Sunderland do likewise at home and
potentially leave themselves open? I'm not sure.
United have the quality to bounce back from a poor display against FC Porto
in midweek - they have players who can come in and change games around.
One thing I would say, though, is that one or two of the United players have
looked more than a little jaded of late and that will worry Sir Alex Ferguson
just a touch. They'll still have too much for Sunderland, though.
