breakthrough when they were temporarily on top

O'Shea: 7
Champions League goal hero effectively put the threat of Downing to bed

Evans: 7
Sound and unflappable sidekick to Vidic snuffed out limited threat

Vidic: 8
Immense aerially when the Teessiders had their tails up in the early part
of first half 

Evra: 7
No real test from the Middlesbrough attack for a man of his calibre

Park: 7
Motored up and down right flank with real purpose and produced a finish of
quality

Boxed off the midfield battle with consummate ease

If any 'Boro players didn't vote for him as PFA Player of Year they will
know now why so many did

His his newly acquired regular left wing role he was a constant pain for
Middlesbrough and inspiration for Reds

Worked hard enough but it was a tough one for the teenager

Berbatov: 6
The Bulgarian's subtle prompting might not have been a real eye catcher but
it helped United keep pressure on
