曼聯的首席執行官David Gill再次否認曼聯會出售Ruud van Nistelrooy以集資購買艾弗頓
的Wayne Rooney，並斥責媒體報道失實。
Gill強調曼聯不會出售Van Nistlerooy，更何況球員本身也強烈表示他想要留下。
「那些報道Ruud被多傢俱樂部追求的傳聞突顯了他是一名多麼偉大的球員，同時也強調了
他對我們而言又是那麼的重要，」Gill說道。
「雖然這些沒完沒了的傳聞很惱人，但關鍵人物如Alex Ferguson、Ruud及曼聯內部的官員
都清楚下賽季他將繼續為紅魔而戰。」
正在參加歐錦賽的Van Nistelrooy也表達了同樣的意願。
「我對於必須不斷澄清傳聞已感到厭煩，」這名荷蘭殺手說道。「不過我必須再次重申。
」
「我在曼聯很開心，我會一直留在那裡，不只是下賽季，而是直到我退休。」

Gill has insisted on several occasions that the Old Trafford outfit will not lo
ok to sell off Dutch striker van Nistlerooy - with the player himself also reit
erating his desire to stay.
」The level of reported interest shown by other clubs in Ruud shows what a grea
t player he is and what an asset he is to us,」 said Gill.
」The continued speculation is frustrating but the key people - Alex Ferguson,
Ruud and he board of directors, know that he will be with us next season.」
Van Nistelrooy, currently spearheading Holland in Euro 2004, was equally adaman
t that he is going nowhere.
」I'm sick of saying it,」 said the Dutch striker. 「But I will say it again.
」I'm happy at United and I will be there next season and beyond.」
