Newcastle在同意了該隊的Gary Speed加盟Bolton後，已經準備付錢引進曼聯的中場球
員Nicky Butt。
Butt加盟Newcastle的消息已經謠傳了一個多月，但直到目前為止雙方都沒有達成任何
協議，因此相信Butt 有可能繼續在曼聯開始他的新賽季。
如今Newcastle的主帥Sir Bobby Robson已經度假歸來，Speed的離去令他更渴望擴展
球隊的實力，並且清楚的表明Butt依然是他想要的目標。
然而，直到現在曼聯並沒有接收到任何的官方開價，因此，除非事情出現巨大的突變
，否則Butt將與球隊同行前往美國參加為期10天的美國夏季之旅。

The England midfielder was being tipped to head for Tyneside more than a month
ago but when the deal failed to transpire, it seemed Butt was destined to start
the season at Old Trafford.
Now Sir Bobby Robson has returned from his summer break determined to strengthe
n his squad after offloading veteran Speed and he has made it clear Butt is sti
ll on his wanted list.
However, as yet, United have received no firm offer from the 29-year-old Englan
d midfielder and unless the situation changes dramatically overnight, Butt will
be part of the squad that embarks on the Red Devils' 10-day, three-match tour.
"Nicky will be travelling with us,'' confirmed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
