南安普敦門將Antti Niemi承認，如果曼聯或阿森納對他感興趣，他可能會離開
St. Mary's Stadium。
該名芬蘭門將是英超最搶手的門將之一。
由於Roy Carroll、Tim Howard和Jens Lehmann都多次在比賽上犯錯，因此盛傳曼聯與
阿森納可能會羅致該名三十二歲的門將，而紐卡索爾和利物浦亦可能加入競爭行列。
「我希望南安普敦不會賣走我，但如果曼聯對我感興趣，我說拒絕他們的邀請是騙你
的。」Antti Niemi說。
「我在南安普敦很快樂，不過如果曼聯和阿森納想羅致我，我希望有機會與他們傾談一
下，始終那些都是可以爭標的球隊。」
而Antti Niemi亦透露，在2002年由Hearts轉會到南安普敦的時候，他是有機會加盟曼
聯的。
「當年我剛與南安普敦簽約，但後來經理人向我說Sir Alex Ferguson有致電過他，但
當時我已經在飛機上了。」
「如果Sir Alex Ferguson早幾小時致電給我的經理人，可能我已經加盟了曼聯。」

Southampton's Antti Niemi admits he would be ready to solve Manchester
United's goalkeeping puzzle.
Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly keen to sign a top-flight keeper and the
32-year-old Finn would fit the bill.
Niemi said: "I hope Saints don't have to sell me, but I would be lying if I
said I wouldn't be ready to talk to Manchester United.
"I'm happy at Southampton, but if either United or Arsenal came in, I would
want to talk to them."
Niemi, who has 50 Finland caps, joined Southampton from Hearts for ￡2m in
August 2002.
Saints boss Harry Redknapp sees retaining Niemi as vital to his side's hopes
of winning their relegation battle.
Ferguson is concerned Man Utd's pursuit of the Premiership title and the
Champions League could be undermined by their lack of a top-notch keeper.
Roy Carroll has proved error prone, while Tim Howard has not shown the
consistency required.
Niemi's current contract takes him to 2008, but he said: "Let's be honest,
Manchester United and Arsenal are the clubs where you know you will win
things."
The Finn revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson has already made a previous attempt
to sign him when he was at Hearts.
Niemi said: "Just after signing for Saints, I found out that Hearts had rung
my agent telling me that Sir Alex wanted me up there to talk.
"He was even ready to lay on a plane. Had Mr Ferguson been two or three hours
earlier with his phone call I'd have gone."
