a great deal of uncertainty and that has been a worry. I have known Wes
since he was 13 years old and have watched and seen him grow into a splendid
young man. I couldn’t bear to lose him, I didn’t want to lose him. I am
thrilled that Wes has decided to commit his future here and I hope that
he will enjoy his career at Manchester United."

後衛布朗正式與曼聯續約。
曼聯宣佈俱樂部與布朗續簽新合約，布朗將會最少效力球會至 2008 年 6 月。
弗格森爵士表示：「我們都對此消息感到雀躍。過去數周情況都未明朗，令我有點擔心。
自布朗 13 歲起我便認識他，一直目睹他的成長。我實在不希望失去他，也不能想像失去
他的情形。我對布朗最終決定全心效力曼聯感到高興，我希望他繼續享受為曼聯效力。」
布朗則表示：「我一向都希望留在曼聯。我在這裡成長，能夠留下我很高興。曼聯是世界
最佳的俱樂部，我希望可以繼續成為其中一分子。我期望在未來參與不同的賽事，及贏得
更多錦標。」
