Keane Suffers Injury Blow

Manchester United captain Roy Keane has been ruled out of action for three week
s with cracked ribs.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV:
"He has been in a bit of pain the last two or three games
and it is too big a risk to play him now.
"We took him for a scan and it (the injury) was much more pronounced
than before.
"If he took a bang in a game he could puncture a lung
and that could put him out for months."
The absence of the 32-year-old, who has dropped back to centre-half,
will come as a blow for United who are still without the suspended
Rio Ferdinand.
Wes Brown is still making his comeback from an Achilles injury and
Gabriel Heinze is at the Olympics with Argentina, leaving United short of
defensive cover.
Keane's injury is also bad news for Republic of Ireland boss Brian Kerr
as he prepares for World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus (4 September) and
Switzerland (8 September).
