曼聯門將卡洛爾感謝領隊弗格森給予他上陣機會，並且希望以表現換取一張新合約。
卡洛爾於週一對利物浦的賽事中上陣，而球隊亦以二比一勝出。
而他的合約將會於今屆完結後約滿，而他現在積極希望爭取一張新合約。
霍華德在季初未能有水準表現，因此在週末對托特拉姆熱刺的比賽，卡洛爾有望在今季第
二次以首發上陣。
「我的合約在季尾便完結，但暫時仍然未有人提及續約問題。」卡洛爾說。
「霍華德是一個很好的門將，不過待在替補席對我來說也不太好。」
「就像其他人一樣，我希望上陣。」

Carroll Stakes Keeper Claim
Roy Carroll is aiming to take Tim Howard's No.1 spot and earn himself a new
contract at Old Trafford.
Carroll was handed his first start of the season in the 2-1 win over Liverpool
on Monday.
The Northern Ireland international hopes he can capitalise on Tim Howard's
absence as Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that Howard needs time out of the first
team spotlight.
"My contract is up at the end of the season and nobody has yet mentioned
anything about a new one," Carroll is quoted as saying in Friday's Daily Star.
Ferguson acknowledged that Howard has hit a blip, a point common in a player's
second season.
"I think the second season is always a test for everyone," he said. "You
normally see it with the young players.
"In their first season they seem to be flying all the time. You don't always
realise that there could be bad days ahead. And when you hit that blip,
sometimes the only way out of it is to be taken out of it altogether."
Carroll, who turns 27 at the end of the month, added: "Tim Howard is a great
keeper, but it's no good to me spending my whole time on the bench. I'm like
anyone else as I want to play."
