Fergie Hopes United 'Warrior' Makes Final
Sir Alex Ferguson says Gabriel Heinze deserves to win his FA Cup final
fitness battle after an impressive debut season for the Reds.
The Argentine left-back is currently sidelined with ankle injury and
faces an anxious wait to see if he will recover in time for the 21 May
showdown with Arsenal.
"I'd like to see Gabi Heinze fit for the final," Ferguson said. "He
started jogging on Monday and I am hoping that we may just get him.
"He's been a warrior for us," added the Reds boss. "He's showed great
professionalism and proved he's a real winner. He deserves to play in
the final.
"I'm not 100% sure [if he'll make it], but if we can get him I would
be happy."
The ￡6.9million signing from Paris Saint Germain is widely regarded as
one of the signings of the season, but he has not played since falling
awkwardly against Newcastle at Old Trafford last month.
