Heinze puts his faith in Fergie 16/6/05 7:10 AM 來源: 曼聯官網 http://tinyurl.com/bzcyq Heinze: I Feel At Home Gabriel Heinze will stay at Old Trafford as long as the team Sir Alex Ferguson is creating continues to improve. Sir Alex has crafted an emerging young core in his squad and Heinze, who says he feels at home in Manchester, wants to be a part of a successful United team under the Scot. The 27-year-old left-back has enjoyed an incredible debut season with the Reds, but insists his future at the club remains in the hands of fate and Ferguson. "I'm very happy [with my first season]," he told the latest edition of United magazine. "I’m very comfortable and feel at home here." The £6.9million signing from Paris Saint Germain is contracted to the club until 2009. Having been employed by five different clubs in seven years, Heinze was asked if it is time now for him to settle at one club, United. "You never know in football what is going to happen next," he said. "I’m the sort of person who likes to make continuous progress. "Where I’m going to be, where I'm going to end up - I don’t know. It depends on Him upstairs… And Sir Alex Ferguson. Actually, it probably depends more on Alex Ferguson!" Heinze has been on World Cup duty with Argentina, helping his country become the first South American qualifiers for next summer’s finals in Germany with a conclusive 3-1 victory over Brazil earlier this month. His involvement in the Copa America and the Olympics delayed his arrival at Old Trafford by three months – he signed in June, but didn’t make his debut (against Bolton) until September. Sandwiched between his international exploits was a gruelling campaign for United. However, rather than complain about tiredness and niggling injuries, Heinze will happily squeeze as many games into his schedule as possible. "Tiredness is not a big issue," he says dismissively. "You do have the odd feeling of tiredness creep in, I suppose. It’s a few years since I’ve had any holidays and I don’t get much time to rest with my family. But I put that thought to the back of my mind. (果然是鐵人Orz) "It's such a pleasure for me to play football. I love it so much. There's plenty of time to rest when I retire. If I don’t have any holidays this summer, that’ll be good because it'll mean I'm playing more matches for my national team and for my club." The Argentine defender expressed his frustration at United not challenging for major honours come the crucial stage of the season. With the Reds out of Europe and out of the title race in March, Ferguson’s men were aiming solely for the FA Cup. "A club like Manchester United should be fighting for trophies on all fronts until the last day of the season, so it’s disappointing," he added. "At the same time, these things happen in football. So, I wouldn’t like to say it’s a failure. "You have to remember that there have been quite a few new people arriving at the club during the season and it takes time to adapt and settle in. You can’t talk about failure when everyone has worked so hard over the entire season. "Over the summer I think every individual in the team needs to look at themselves. Everyone will draw on their own conclusions about their personal form." A draw against Crystal Palace in the Premiership – a cause of which was resting players for the next match, the second leg tie with AC Milan – and defeat in Milan practically ended United’s quest for their two most sought-after trophies. "All defeats bring with them their own kind of bad karma," Heinze says of the crucial loss to Milan. "But I suppose it was worse with Milan because we all felt so confident before the tie that we’d get through. It did have a negative effect, but I don’t want to offer that as an excuse. "We had a lot of very vital games against what you might call weaker sides in the league after that and that’s where we started to drop points. Chelsea just carried on and never slipped up – we should have kept on their heels. "We did everything we could, we tried as hard as we could, but ultimately Chelsea won the league and they deserved it so we have to congratulate them. That’s it. "For me, pressure doesn’t exist. When you play for a big club and are up there with the big boys, you shouldn’t be worrying how other teams are getting on. That comes with the territory." Gabriel Heinze was speaking to United magazine.
