Fergie eyes title challenge after victory against Arsenal

Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted with United's performance as United
brought Arsenal's unbeaten run to an end with a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.
Here's what the boss had to say after the game...
Important victory
"It was an important victory. The only problem with the game today
is that it was built up to such a height by the media there was probably
more emphasis on it than there really was. I think we've proved over
the years that there's nothing between the two teams, we've got
a lot of great players on the pitch and I'd think in these situations
we hope that our big players come through and I think today they did."
Penalty incident
"I haven't seen it yet, but Campbell brought Rooney down in the box
and if you're brought down inside the box it's a penalty kick, I think!"
Impossible task
"The referee had an impossible job. For a long period it seemed to me
that Patrick Viera was in charge of things and was always at the
referee's side. And the referee's got to be strong with these things,
you know, it's difficult for him. It's just impossible for him."
Onwards and upwards
"It's a great boost for us. When you're not doing well and you're
drawing too many games then obviously getting back on the winning trail
is important. Important because our oponents were Arsenal today.
I think if we work as hard as that and if I can name a consistent
team then we'll get the results.
"It's a good start for us, hopefully we'll get on a good run of wins now,
because we need wins to get alongside Arsenal."

網易體育10月25日消息，曼聯終於成為了槍手不敗神話的終結者，在這一天，曼聯在老特
拉福球場，憑藉範尼復仇般的點球，還有新曼聯標誌－魯尼的近門推射破網，2-0使得阿
森納英超聯賽不敗的紀錄停在了49場，最高興的人莫過於曼聯領隊弗格森爵士了。
賽後弗格森在曼聯的官方網站上發表了評論，他首先非常高興球隊擊敗了老對手阿森
納，並表示這場重要的勝利，讓曼聯重新回到了爭奪冠軍的軌道上
"這是一場重要的勝利，今天比賽中我們遇到惟一的問題就是媒體把比賽渲染得太過於重
要了，把比賽比喻成為了戰爭一樣，其實比賽並不是這樣的。我認為我們的表現很好的證
明了這一年多來，並沒有特別的敵意存在於兩隊之間。"曼聯領隊弗格森表示。"我們在場
上有很多偉大的球員，我想在這種情形下，我們隊中的關鍵球員起到了關鍵的作用。我認
為他們今天做到了。"比賽中，魯尼禁區內帶球轉身被坎貝爾踢倒，雖然裁判判罰了點球
，但是坎貝爾顯然對於魯尼的表現存在極度的不滿，他認為自己並沒有真正踢到了魯尼的
腿。弗格森則認為這應該是一個點球。
"其實我還沒有看比賽的錄影，但是坎貝爾在禁區內放倒了魯尼是事實，如果你在禁
區內被踢倒了，我認為是應該獲得點球的。"弗格森繼續表示。"裁判是一項難以忍受的工
作，我長時期認為維艾拉是支配著比賽的人物，他總是得到裁判的支持。裁判工作是很困
難，當然這我是知道的，但是他太過於遷就某些球員了。""得到三分讓我們重燃了希望，
當我們開局不利，我們在新賽平了太多的比賽了，明顯的，現在我們吹響了反攻的號角了
，重新回到正確的取勝軌道上是非常重要的。因為我們今天的對手是阿森納，這樣的勝利
就更加重要了。我認為如果我們每場比賽都這麼努力，我們可以戰勝任何的強隊，我們能
奪回英超冠軍。"弗格森最後表示。"我們有了好的開始，希望我們能夠繼續獲得連勝，因
為我們需要勝利去追趕領頭羊。"
