Hargreaves wait continues:

Owen Hargreaves will not line up against West Bromwich Albion at Old
Trafford on Saturday, contrary to reports in the media earlier this week.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed the midfielder has picked up a calf
injury and is not available for selection.

"Owen's not ready. He's injured," Sir Alex said. "He got a calf injury
and has missed training for the last few days."

The news contradicts reports from across the Atlantic that suggested
Hargreaves was set to make his first senior start since September 2008.
Dr Richard Steadman, who has overseen part of Hargreaves's rehabilitation,
was quoted this week as saying: "Owen should play some part on Saturday."

But Sir Alex insists the statement is "not accurate."

"I pick the team and I have been doing that for a while," he said. "We're
having some difficulties with the doctor [Steadman] in Colorado. It's
not fair to the player, to the fans and to ourselves to say the player is
going to be playing. It's ridiculous.

"It's a small interference that has caused a bit of confusion. Owen's
not available for West Brom."

One player who could take to the pitch is Ryan Giggs. The Welshman
missed United's games against Valencia and Sunderland after picking
up a hamstring injury in the Reds' draw at Bolton in late September,
but Sir Alex says he's now ready to re-enter the fray.

"Giggsy's been out for a couple of weeks but he's fit again."

The boss also confirmed that all those involved in international matches
this week returned to Carrington unscathed and applauded FIFA's recent
decision to schedule matches on Fridays and Tuesdays. Previously, those
games would have taken place on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

"It's a fantastic move to bring these games forward," Sir Alex said,
"particularly the Tuesday games. That gives us an extra day to prepare
[for the weekend]."

Sir Alex was speaking to Key 103 and MUTV.

萬眾期待哈格復出又落空 弗爵親口否認愛將痊癒

    這兩天，英國媒體爆炒哈格裡夫斯養傷2年終於復出的新聞，無數曼聯球迷為之歡呼
雀躍，甚至連哈格本人都喊出這次再不成功就退役的誓言，但不幸的是，今天下午弗格森
親口證實，他的1700萬鎊愛將依然還在養傷中。


    弗格森在曼聯官網證實，哈格裡夫斯的小腿傷勢未癒：「歐文還沒有準備好，他受傷
了，他的小腿有傷，他已經錯過了過去幾天的訓練。」哈格裡夫斯復出的消息最初來自於
他的外科醫生理查德斯-斯蒂德曼，他在本周接受媒體採訪時說：「歐文應該可以在週六
的比賽中上場。」


    但弗格森稱這個消息不確切：「我親自挑選球員，我已經做這個工作有一段時間了，
我們和這個在科羅拉多州的醫生（斯蒂德曼）的溝通有點問題，對於球員、球迷或者我們
自己來說宣佈他即將復出是不公平的，這是荒唐的，這有一點小衝突，製造了一些混亂，
歐文還沒有做好準備迎戰西布朗。」


    但本週末曼聯還是有人復出了，他就是36歲的老將吉格斯，威爾士傳奇已經因傷錯過
了對瓦倫西亞、桑德蘭的比賽，弗格森說：「吉格斯已經養傷了好幾周，但他現在已經痊
癒了。」


    此外，弗格森還很感激國際足聯推行的新賽制，國際比賽日現在改在週五和週二，而
不是過去的週六和週三，曼聯所有出戰的國腳也無一受傷：「把這些比賽提前非常好，特
別是週二的比賽，那給了我們額外的準備時間。」
