Had a bit of a torrid first half when he looked vulnerable every time
Wigan took him on. Second-half improvement
Ferdinand: - 6
For the first 45 minutes the deputy skipper looked like he had an
England hangover but his composure came back eventually
Vidic: - 6
The Serb's opening half was a struggle but his header for the equaliser
was superb and gave him confidence
Carrick: - 5
Played the simple ball far too often when United really needed a pass
to unlock Wigan
O'Shea: - 5
Didn't command midfield in the first half but his game improved when
he went to right back
Scholes: - 6
Not one of his most dynamic performances but he grew into the game
Solskjaer: - 7
Disciplined display on the flank but still gave Wigan a few headaches in box
Rooney: - 8
Hit the bar, got the assists for Saha and Solskjaer's goals, added to
an audacious chip just over bar suggests he's over the worst
Saha: - 7
Hit and miss in front of goal but his strike was excellently taken
Subs:
Giggs (sub Brown 45) - 7
Gave United some much needed verve
