Boss salutes super-sub Solskjaer

Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's return to the scoresheet
after the Norwegian fired United's third goal in their 3-0 win at Charlton.
The 33-year-old recorded his first goal for nearly three years in the final
seconds of the Reds' impressive display at The Valley.
Solskjaer coolly slotted home Louis Saha's cross before being mobbed by his
elated team-mates.
"It was a great moment for Ole, United fans everywhere, the players and the
staff," a delighted Sir Alex told Sky Sports afterwards.
"Ole has been through a torrid time with injuries for the last two years,
but he's perservered and never lost faith and has got his repayment tonight.
Everyone is over the moon for him."
On a wet night in South London on a tricky pitch, the Reds produced the kind
of performance which Sir Alex believes will go a long way to helping them
overcome Chelsea, who went down 2-1 at The Riverside.
"It was a great performance from us," declared Sir Alex. "When you think
about the players we were missing including Gary Neville who pulled out on
Wednesday morning, I think it was a real demonstration of how strong our
squad is.
"I've been saying for the last few weeks that this is a maturing team. I can
see that maturity now in young players like Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea,
while others like Ronaldo and Ji-sung Park are also improving. Ronaldo in
particular was fantastic.
"You also need the experienced players in there like Rio and Mikael Silvestre
who were terrific at the back.
"The advantage for us tonight is the fact Chelsea have lost and we've won,"
added the United boss. "That's a great advantage but at the same time it's
only the second game of the season, so you can't talk about leads [at this
early stage].
"But we have the will to do it, we have the players to do it and without
question we have the spirit in the camp to do it; so we've got a big chance
for sure."
