Larsson reiterates stance

Henrik Larsson has reiterated for the umpteenth time his intention to
honour his agreement with Helsingborgs and return to Sweden next week.
The classy Swede has seemingly made his final competitive appearance for
Manchester United, in Saturday's FA Cup draw with Middlesbrough, but his
swansong will be a farewell game against a European select XI in Tuesday's
charity game at Old Trafford.
Larsson's fine form, when coupled with United's congested treatment room,
has led many to speculate that he would extend his stay until the season's
conclusion, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side still gunning for a treble.
However, despite the pleas of Ferguson, his team-mates and supporters alike,
Larsson has no desire for a prolonged stay in Manchester.
"I had a chat with Sir Alex but nothing would tempt me to change my mind
about leaving," said Larsson.
"It is a little bit sad but I knew when I signed this would be my last
game.
"It has been a pleasure to be here and I will follow this team every step
of the way now, keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well.
"Nobody knew what the situation would be when I left. United initially
signed me to cover some injuries they had at the time.
"It is unfortunate Louis (Saha) got injured and Ole (Solskjaer) has had a
minor operation on his knee. I know it is not good timing for me to leave
now but that was the time period of the contract. These things happen.
"There is a little break coming up, which will help them, and I am confident
they have enough to cope."
Such has been the impression Larsson has made on Ferguson, the Scottish
tactician has intimated that he believes the prolific striker, despite his
ageing limbs, could still do a job in the Premiership next season.
Again, this observation is not one shared by Larsson: "This is it.
"I am not 25 anymore. I am 36 this year so it [returning] is not going to
happen."

上週末拉爾森在足總杯對米得爾斯堡的比賽中踢足九十分鐘，最終球隊以二比二賽
和。而在週二晚上於老特拉福德舉行的慈善賽將也是拉爾森告別曼聯的日子。
早前傳媒都猜測拉爾森是否會續留至季末，但最終他還是選擇回家。
「我有與弗格森談過，但沒有事情可以令我改變初衷。」拉爾森說。
「這有少許傷感，不過我在簽約時就已經知道何時會是我最後一場比賽。」
「我希望這裡之後一切會順利，我仍會留意曼聯之後的動向。」
「在我加盟的時候，沒有人會知道我離開時球隊會怎樣，那時候球隊正受傷患困擾
。」
「很不幸現在薩哈和索爾斯克亞都受了傷，我知現時離開不是適當的時候，但合約
已經完成了。」
「之後將會有小休的時間，希望可以幫助到他們，我也有信心他們可以應付得來。」
之前弗格森表示他的狀態足以在明年還可以重返英超，不過拉爾森笑說︰「我不是
廿五歲了，在今年我將滿三十六歲，不可能再返回英超吧。」
