Cristiano Ronaldo did another awards double on Monday night after being
named Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year
on Monday night.
At the end-of-season awards dinner at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old claimed
both major honours, the first voted for by over 100,000 fans, the second by
his team-mates. It has been an incredible season for the Portuguese winger,
who is now widely considered to be the best player in the world. And he has
the silverware to prove it - he has claimed an astonishing 13 personal
accolades this season.
Ronaldo, looking at the Sir Matt Busby award, joked: "That's bigger than
Patrice [Evra]". He added that this season had been "a pleasure playing
at this club and with these great players".
He was beaten to the Goal of the Season award, which deservedly went to
Paul Scholes for his thunderous volley in off the bar against Aston Villa.
Scholes, who was presented the award by team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,
said: "The standard of goals this season has been brilliant, so I'm
really pleased to get this award."
Defender Kieran Lee was named Reserves Player of the Year, beating Michael
Lea and Sean Evans to the accolade. He has been a regular in United's
second string this term, but fans will remember him most for scoring the
winning goal on his debut in the Carling Cup win over Crewe. He also played
the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 Premiership draw against Chelsea.
Highly-rated Craig Cathcart picked up the Academy Player of the Year award.
The 18-year-old Belfast-born centre-half is captain of the U18s, and his
potential can be measured by his recent call-up to the first-team towards
the end of the season.

曼徹斯特當地時間本週一晚，曼聯在老特拉福德舉辦慶功及頒獎晚宴，22歲的C羅
一舉攬下兩大獎項，成為當晚風頭最強勁的球員，也將自己本賽季的個人榮譽增添到驚
人的13個。
這次評選範圍是在曼聯內部，10萬名曼聯球迷投票選出「年度最佳」，獲獎者將被
授予巴斯比爵士獎盃，另一個獎項是由隊員評選出的年度最佳，葡萄牙人C羅毫無懸念地
完成了「雙殺」。曼聯官網文章感歎說，對C羅來說這是一個不可思議的賽季，他已經被
廣泛認可為世界最佳球員，他獲得的榮譽也證明了這一觀點，本賽季他13次獲得各種最
佳獎項。
頒獎當晚，心情很好的C羅甚至拿隊友埃弗拉開起玩笑，葡萄牙人舉著用巴斯比爵士
塑像做成的獎盃說，「這可比埃弗拉還高。」接著他對支持他的球迷和隊友表示感謝。
「很高興能在曼聯效力，與這麼多偉大的球員並肩作戰。」
唯一讓C羅遺憾的是他沒能將最佳進球獎盃收入懷中，葡萄牙人被斯科爾斯「擊敗」
，曼聯輕取維拉的比賽中，斯科爾斯凌空勁射擊中橫樑內側彈入大門，老戰友索爾斯克
亞將獎盃頒發給斯科爾斯。生薑頭說：「本賽季隊友們的進球都很漂亮，所以贏得這個
榮譽讓我更開心。」預備隊最佳球員獎授予年輕後衛基蘭-李。
