Injured Ji targets Reds return

Ji-sung Park is ready for the long road back to recovery after undergoing
a successful knee operation.
Park returned to Korea on Friday after surgery was performed on his right
knee in a hospital in Colorado last month.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who has struggled with injuries this season,
making only 12 starts, spent the first few days in his home town of Suwon,
near Seoul, and refrained from speaking to the media.
In his first interview since the operation, he told Korean reporters that,
despite an element of trepidation about the long road to recovery that lies
ahead, he is determined to regain his fitness and play again for the Reds.
"Frankly speaking, rehabilitation is the last thing that I want to do," he
said, "but I have to accept it if I want to play again in the Premier
League."

Park has been on crutches since the operation, but while United have decided
to wait until August to review when he will return, the winger wanted to
point out that he will not be out for a year, as had been reported in some
sections of the media.
"For the next two months, my knee doesn’t need much attention so I've been
allowed to come to Korea. The medical staff keep in touch with me.
"Unlike the media's expectations, it will not last a year but I cannot say
exactly how long it will take " he said. "A medical check in August will
decide when I will come back."
