Fergie在南非的記者會透露曼聯即將簽下 West Brom 的門將 Tomasz Kuszczak。
而 Tomasz Kuszczak 會是曼聯的二號門將，VDS一樣是一號門將。
至於 Ben Foster 則繼續租借到Watford。

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that United are on the verge of signing
West Brom goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

Speaking upon arrival in Durban for the first leg of the Club's South
Africa tour, Sir Alex confirmed that the 24-year-old Pole should become
the Reds' first signing of the close season.

The Gaffer told a press conference: "We're possibly just about to tie
up a deal for Tomasz Kuszczak from West Brom. He's got Premier division
experience and he will be the number two to Edwin van der Sar.

"Edwin's got another year left on his contract but I think that Tomasz
is a possibility depending on how he does. His form last year was superb.

"He's a terrific signing by us and I think by this time next year we'll be
in a very strong position with goalkeepers, for one of the first times since
Peter Schmeichel."

Ferguson also revealed that fellow goalkeeper Ben Foster is set to spend
the coming season on loan at Watford, after playing a huge part in guiding
them to the Premiership last term.

Despite confirming that Foster will spend another year away from Old
Trafford, however, Ferguson is convinced that the 23-year-old has a
long-term future at United.

"Ben Foster is someone that everyone's very excited about," he said.
"We signed him from Stoke City last season and farmed him out to Watford
for the season, and eventually he was picked out as the fourth choice
goalkeeper for England at the World Cup, which was a tremendous boost
for the boy.

"He's got a great frame, is very very quick and a good fielder of the
ball. We're very excited about him. When you think he's only 23 years
of age, we think he's a promising prospect."

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace has played down Sir Alex Ferguson's claims
that keeper Tomasz Kuszczak is on the verge of joining Manchester United. 

The 26-year-old Polish international has long been linked with United, and
Ferguson had said: "We are in the process of tying up a deal."

But Peace insisted: "We've had talks but absolutely nothing has been agreed. 

"We've said throughout the close season that it's our intention to hold on
to key members of the first-team squad." 

西布朗維奇的主席皮爾斯則堅稱，關於庫沙克雙方還沒有達成協議。
「我們正在與曼聯談判中，任何協議還沒有達成。我們需要為聯賽作準備，
  我們會留住一隊每一名關鍵的球員。」

West Brom appeared to pave the way for Kuszczak to join United by signing
Switzerland's World Cup goalkeeper Pascal

And with Ferguson allowing reserve keepers Tim Howard and Ben Foster to join
Everton and Watford on loan respectively, it appeared certain that Kuszczak
would join as United's number two.

Indeed, Ferguson said: "He has Premier League experience and he'll be number
two to Van der Sar."

However, following Peace's declaration that it was the club's policy "not to
sell key members of the squad", Baggies manager Bryan Robson also hinted that
Kuszczak could stay.

He said: "Pascal is a vastly experienced keeper and it is up to him and
Tomasz to challenge for the first-team place here."
