Real Madrid claim to have signed United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
A story on the club's official website says that the Dutchman has agreed
a three-year deal and will be unveiled in Spain on Friday evening.
It is unlikely that Manchester United will comment on these reports until
Friday.
Earlier on Thursday, Sir Alex Ferguson had insisted that the striker would
remain at United unless his full asking price was met.
Ferguson is adamant that United will not let such a proven goalscorer leave
Old Trafford for any less than his asking price, citing Chelsea's signing of
Andriy Shevchenko - aged 29 and priced at over ￡30million - as a benchmark
move.
"We know our value," he told MUTV on Wednesday. "If we are going to sell
Ruud van Nistelrooy we should get the proper value. He is one of the best
strikers in the country, one of the best strikers in Europe so when you
think about Shevchenko going for ￡35million - he's a similar age group."

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been given the go-ahead to undergo a medical with
Real Madrid.
Reports on Thursday evening had suggested that a deal to take the striker to
Spain had been sealed. However, a club statement has confirmed that these
reports are premature.
A club spokeswoman told ManUtd.com: "Manchester United give permission for
Ruud van Nistelrooy to travel to Real Madrid for a medical.
"However, terms of agreement are yet to be finalised between the two clubs."

Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy has undergone a medical at Real
Madrid and is expected to be unveiled as the Spanish club's signing at
1800 BST.
Madrid announced on their website that the 30-year-old has agreed a
three-year contract - but did not reveal the fee.
"I am very happy to be at the best club in the world where I want to score
many goals," the Dutch striker told the Real Madrid official website.
"To come here is a football dream and it has finally become reality."

"It is wonderful to be here, a fantastic feeling," added Van Nistelrooy.
"I am very moved at being presented today and then travelling to Austria.
"When Real Madrid come looking, you do not have to think because they are
the number one.
"When I look at their history and their players I am very touched because
they have many important names."
Reports on Thursday said Real, who previously had a bid turned down for the
Dutchman, would now pay about ￡10.2m (15m Euros).
In their statement, Madrid said: "Real Madrid announce they have an agreement
with Manchester United for the transfer of the player Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"The player will be contracted with the club for the next three seasons.
"He will undergo a medical on Friday morning and will be presented in the
evening at 7pm at the Palco de Honor at the Santiago Bernabeu."
If the move goes through, Van Nistelrooy will link up with former United
team-mate David Beckham at the Bernabeu.
Van Nistelrooy said the partnership with Beckham was one of the major
attractions of moving to the Bernabeu.
"When Beckham left United I was very sad both on a personal level and
because of the way we connected on the pitch," he said.
"They were wonderful times that I hope will now be repeated in Madrid."
And Van Nistelrooy singled out Brazilian striker Ronaldo as another player
he would be looking forward to playing alongside.
"I have a great desire to play with Ronaldo. He is a phenomenon. His goal
record speaks for itself," he added.
"It has been an ambition of mine to be able to train with him. I have
followed him over many years and now it is fantastic to be able to work
together."
In addition to Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy will face competition from Raul,
Julio Baptista and Robinho for a starting place.

在莫拉萊哈醫院等待體檢時，已經有大批等不及的球迷上前索要簽名。民意調查有
60%的球迷看好范尼與羅納爾多的搭檔，范尼的「火」並不意外。滿足完球迷之後，范
尼接受了皇馬電視台的專訪。
同之前卡納瓦羅、埃莫森亮相感言相比，范尼對皇馬的崇拜熱情更高。他說：「現
