Bardsley ready to fight for place

Phil Bardsley's agent insists that the on-loan right-back will remain at
Rangers, despite being left out the squad for the visit to St Mirren Park.
The Manchester United 21-year-old was axed for the midweek Uefa Cup win
over Livorno after being sent off in training for a tackle on Thomas Buffel.
Manager Paul Le Guen had said it was more up to Bardsley whether he stayed.
And his agent, Des Rowe, said: "Phil has spoken to the manager and told him
he is committed to Rangers."
Bardsley was not even on the bench against St Mirren on Sunday, even though
Le Guen made other changes following Thursday's 3-2 win in Italy.
"That's what the manager expects from him.
"I have talked with Phil and he is ready to rock and roll.
"He wants to play and show the Rangers fans, the club and the manager what
he can do.
"He does not want the incident last week to be something which will hang
over him.
"He was absolutely gutted to be left out for the Livorno game, but he just
wants to show Paul Le Guen he was right to bring him to Rangers and he is
desperate to be a big player for them.
"They have had a chat together and everything is fine.
"After such a good result in Italy, the manager is not about to change
a winning team this weekend, so I expect Phil will not be involved. But
there is no problem.
"I think, next week, Phil will be back in contention. He respects the
manager's decision."
