Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy is the latest name in the pot, although
he was first linked to an Old Trafford move after Rovers' visit in the
Premiership in March.
In that day's match programme, the South Africa striker revealed his love
for the Reds and has now insisted he wants to play in the Champions League.
The News Of The World claims McCarthy reckons: "Blackburn are probably not
a team that can offer that opportunity."
The United boss has openly admitted he is chasing three recruits and the
media expect the arrival of Owen Hargreaves this week will spark a wave of
newcomers. A striker, a winger and a full-back are the other alleged targets,
with the majority of rumours concerning potential new forwards.
