Giggs And Neville Return For Cup Replay
Sir Alex Ferguson says Ryan Giggs has a "50/50 chance" of playing in United's
FA Cup Third Round replay at Exeter on Wednesday night, while Gary Neville is
set to return following a virus.
Rio Ferdinand misses the match with a hamstring injury, while Gabriel Heinze
and Roy Keane are both suffering from minor colds and Wes Brown is suspended.
Giggs has been out of action for the last two weeks after picking up a
hamstring injury in the Premiership clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford
on 4 January.
The United manager had hoped to have the Welshman available for the trip to
Anfield last Saturday, but the 31-year-old was not deemed ready for the
lunchtime kick off.
However, Giggs will be in Ferguson's squad which travels to the south coast.
"Ryan is 50/50," confirmed Sir Alex. "He is much better and I will take him
with me. Hopefully he'll be alright for the game."
Gary Neville, who hasn't played since the 5-2 win over Crystal Palace on 18
December, has been suffering from a lingering flu virus, but will play against
Exeter at St James' Park.
"Gary is back fit and will play on Wednesday night," added Fergie. "He's fine
now and has had ten days training."
Neville's prolonged absence might have been a cause for concern, but Ferguson
says the defender's condition had been monitored closely and has been given
the all-clear to play.
"It has been a surprise at how long it has taken for him to shake it off.
Normally, the viruses the players have been getting in the last two months
have been a two or three-day thing. Gary's came, went, came back again, went
and came back again. It has persisted with the lad.
"But he has been back in training for ten days, we have done all the blood
tests and checks. He's perfectly alright now."
Rio Ferdinand has not been included in the travelling squad as he is still
recovering from a hamstring injury. "I will take a strong side," confirmed
the boss. "But I won't be taking Rio. He's not fit.
"One or two others have colds so I will leave them behind. There is a little
bit of a virus going around the place so we are keeping an eye on that."

爾將傷癒歸隊，而威爾士邊鋒吉格斯的亮相可能為50％。
1月4日主場與托特納姆熱刺隊的比賽中受傷，吉格斯在過去兩周時間裡都因傷缺陣，
不過在本周中的足總杯重賽中，威爾士人極有可能復出。據弗格森透露吉格斯將肯定隨隊
出征南海岸，「他的情況已經有了明顯好轉，我將帶他一起亮相客場，希望他屆時能夠出
場。」弗格森表示。
曼聯隊的另一位老臣子加裡-內維爾在因病毒感染缺陣數日後也將在此役復出。自從
12月18日主場5-2大勝水晶宮隊之後加裡就再也沒有出場過，不過周中他將在聖詹姆斯公
園亮相。
「加裡已經完全恢復，他將能夠在週三晚上出賽，」弗格森補充道，「現在他的情況
很好，他已經恢復訓練10天左右。」內維爾的復出將讓曼聯隊的右路變得更加穩固，不過
他與弟弟菲利普的競爭上崗也將會成為近期的一個看點。
在上周聯賽與利物浦大戰中缺陣的費迪南德將不會隨隊做客聖詹姆斯公園，弗格森在
賽前確認了這一消息。「我將帶一個足夠強大的陣容前往客場，但是這個陣容裡不會包括
裡奧，因為他還沒有完全康復。」
此外據英倫媒體的報道，本賽季在曼聯隊比賽中鮮有出場機會的巴西人克萊伯森極有
可能在近日內走人。葡萄牙的本菲卡隊主帥特拉帕托尼對這位「五星上將」頗感興趣，以
曼聯隊和本菲卡隊的關係，巴西人很可能會在數日內登陸葡甲賽場。克萊伯森在2002年韓
日世界盃上是巴西隊的主力後腰，他幫助巴西隊第五度奪取世界盃冠軍，可是在登陸英倫
後，克萊伯森始終未能展現他在巴西隊中的能力。
