Evans delight at Irish debut

Jonny Evans described making his Northern Ireland debut in the 3-2 win
over Spain as "one of the best days of my life".
The 18-year-old defender was handed the No.3 shirt and played the full 90
minutes in his home city of Belfast. A hat-trick from David Healy secured
an unbelievable victory at Windsor Park.
Evans, currently on loan at Belgian side Royal Antwerp, was a late call-up
to the squad by boss Lawrie Sanchez as the Irish boss looked to make changes
in defence following the team's 3-0 defeat to Iceland on Saturday.
"It was unbelievable," Belfast-born Jonny told BBC Northern Ireland. "We'd
like to thank the fans, they were tremendous. They really got behind us and
after Saturday we really owed it to the fans.
"I was just delighted to get an opportunity and I wanted to take it, to rub
shoulders with and beat the megastars of Spain."
