Wayne Rooney is set to be examined by independent medical experts as
England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson prepares to thrust him into the World Cup.
Professor Angus Wallace flew to Germany with his assistant on Wednesday to
examine the Manchester United striker.
Eriksson says Rooney, 20, is match fit but will let Wallace give a verdict
on the striker's foot ahead of Thursday's game against Trinidad and Tobago.
Rooney has not played since breaking a metatarsal against Chelsea on 29
April.
Professor Wallace arrived with professor Chris Moran from the Queen's
Medical Centre in Nottingham and said: "I am going to speak with England.
"There will be a report on Thursday afternoon and maybe an announcement
afterwards."
