稱他是世界上最出色的後衛之一。這位曼聯球星也即將迎來自己為國家隊出戰的第50場

和特裡一樣，費迪南德是英格蘭國家隊後衛線上一位很有威信的人物。他在1997年
對喀麥隆的比賽裡完成了自己代表國家隊的首場比賽。此後，他就成了國家隊的常客，
並最終成長為今天的主力中衛。費迪南德在國家隊的發揮一樣十分穩定，沉著冷靜，即

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand wins his 50th England cap on Tuesday - and Eriksson
revealed the defender "woke up" after being axed from the team.
Manchester United defender Ferdinand is back to his best following Eriksson's
decision to drop him from the qualifier against Austria at Old Trafford in
September.
Eriksson said: "He has everything a central defender needs, one of the most
elegant you can find. When I put him on the bench I think he deserved it at
that time, but he never complained.
"He wasn't playing very well and when he doesn't play very well you ask 'is
he injured?' Or, 'is he not concentrating?' Because if he is not injured and
he is concentrating, he is one of the best.
"Now he is playing very well again, he has got one yellow card in an England
shirt and he is coming up to 50 caps, which is just incredible and shows you
his quality."
