Bryan Robson has praised United's fans for "a fantastic send off"
to George Best, but says he wasn't surprised the Old Trafford faithful
lived up to its reputation.
The West Brom boss and former United skipper watched his side
go down 3-1 in the fourth round Carling Cup tie at Old Trafford,
but he was moved by the occasion.
"It was a fantastic send off," he said after the game.
Fans observed an emotional minute's silence and then sang George Best songs
throughout the match.
"You don't expect anything less from Manchester United's fans,"
Robson added. "They are excellent when it comes to former players.
"It was a fitting tribute for George Best the player
and George Best the person. He was great.
"It didn't surprise me one little bit that they gave such a
wonderful send off to one of the best players the world has ever seen."
