Reds defender Mikael Silvestre underwent a training session on the pitch
after United's 2-0 victory over Liverpool and is likely to play on
Wednesday night against Crewe Alexandra in the Carling Cup.
United begin the defence of their Carling Cup crown by travelling to
Gresty Road this week.
While the rest of his team-mates were savouring a well-earned win over
United's North west neighbours, the Frenchman, who broke his foot against
Arsenal last month, was out on the Old Trafford being put through his
paces by Reds fitness coach Valter di Salvo.
Silvestre is likely to be joined by fellow returning Reds Gabriel Heinze,
who is also set to play against Crewe.
Reds boss Sir Alex confirmed that the pair will both be involved in the
League Cup, along with Tomasz Kuszczak, Alan Smith, Wes Brown, Kieran
Richardson, David and Ritchie Jones.

聯賽杯對決英乙的克魯維，曼聯準備大面積輪換，弗格森透露，目前已經有八名選
手確定了首發，其中包括兩名久違的傷兵。
作為衛冕冠軍，曼聯不想在第三輪就早早出局，所以在今晚的陣容中，將有部分有
經驗的選手帶年輕人上崗。「今晚肯定出場的是，阿蘭-史密斯、索爾斯克亞、裡查森、
大衛-瓊斯、裡奇-瓊斯、海因策和希爾維斯特。」
另一個雖然沒有被弗格森提到、但卻將首發的是替補守門員庫扎克，范德薩將會休
息，備戰週末的聯賽，庫扎克在和阿森納的比賽中首發過，有幾次出色的撲救，包括撲
出吉爾伯托的點球。
目前，曼聯共有12名球員租借在外，但弗格森不打算召回他們，而是從預備隊中選
人。「這個賽季我們隊內的年輕人不多，因為他們很多人都租借出去了，不過預備隊裡
有一些年輕人目前表現不錯，他們在我的考慮之列。」
不過和考察年輕人相比，另一項任務是給傷兵上場機會，找找久違的比賽感覺。此
前因為腳部骨折而長期休戰的法國後衛希爾維斯特可以復出了，他在本周參加了訓練，
與此同時，阿根廷人海因策也擺脫了傷病影響，他們的復出對於曼聯的後防線來說是個
好消息。
