Ruud Set for Carling Cup Clash

Ruud van Nistelrooy could make a surprise appearance for Manchester United
in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.

United boss Alex Ferguson is set to scrap his Carling Cup policy of fielding
a side made up of youngsters for the home clash with Crystal Palace.

And with van Nistelrooy free to play again after sitting out a three-match ban,
United's leading scorer is in line for a starting place in the fourth-round
tie.

Ferguson said:

"Those players who didn't play on Sunday will be in the cup side."

That could also include Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs who both came on
as second-half substitutes in the 0-0 draw against Manchester City.

Others likely to feature are Wes Brown, Phil Neville and goalkeeper Tim

Howard, who were on the bench on Sunday.

First teamers John O'Shea, Jose Kleberson, David Bellion, Eric Djemba-Djemba
and Darren Fletcher, who all played in the win over Crewe Alexandra in the
last round, are also set to start.

But striker Alan Smith is unavailable. He will sit out a one-match ban after
being sent off for two bookable offences on Sunday.

不過根據上個星期日凌晨看Crystal Palace vs Arsenal的感想，
倒是真的不能低估他們的能力…
