皇馬或與曼聯進行友誼賽

為了替老特拉福球場新建看台正式揭幕，曼聯將邀請皇家馬德里進行友誼賽。
曼聯之前曾經邀請過巴塞隆納和AC米蘭，但未能成事。比賽暫定於八月八日或九日進行。
如果最終能夠成事，將會是貝克漢轉會皇馬後首次回到老特拉福與曼聯比賽。
不過曼聯也透露，會等到七月二日，皇馬新任主席選舉結束後，才可以確定對方會否
參與是項賽事。
對上一次曼聯在拉特拉福主場對皇家馬德里是2003年歐冠杯八強次回合，貝克漢替曼
聯攻入兩球，助球隊以四比三勝出，不過最終仍以總比數落敗出局。以兩個月後貝克
漢便轉會到皇家馬德里。
此外，也可能會是艾歷克森首次回到老特拉福球場。艾歷克森將會於世界盃後離任，
最近有傳言說他會成為皇馬下任領隊。老特拉福球場在溫布里重建期間，大部份時間
都成為國家隊的主場。
由於尤文圖斯可能最終會受降級懲罰，若果皇馬未能成為新看台揭幕禮的友誼賽對手
，曼聯將很難找到其他具份量的海外球隊進行友誼賽。
國際米蘭在暑假將會與曼聯進行友誼賽(？)，不過地點卻是阿甲克斯的主場，而拜仁
慕尼黑在七月三十日會與熱刺比賽，而德甲則在八月十二日展開。

David Beckham will return to Manchester United to play at club level
for the first time in three years if Real Madrid accept an invitation
to bring their galacticos to Old Trafford for a pre-season friendly.
United have asked them to play in a showpiece game in which the new
quadrants of the stands will be officially opened. The Premiership
runners-up have received encouraging feedback but are still waiting
for an official answer before announcing the return of Beckham, an
occasion which would be guaranteed to fill the new-look stadium's
74,800 seats.
If, as expected, Real do accept the invitation it will be the first
time the England captain has come up against Sir Alex Ferguson since
the acrimonious falling-out that led to the midfielder's drawn-out
departure in June 2003.
