Guiseppe Rossi enhanced his claims for first-team action with another
hat-trick for the Reds reserves last night.
It’s his second of the season for United’s shadow squad and heaped
further woes on Newcastle, who they trounced 4-0.
Rossi opened the scoring with a first-half penalty, while Sean Evans
enhanced United’s lead after coming on in the second-half.
Rossi notched his second in the 67th min before completing his hat-trick
with a drive five minutes from the end.
United’s second string skipper Markus Neumayr is delighted by the winning
habit that the Reserves are forming, knowing it can not only speed them
to the Reserves title but stand them in good stead for the first-team.
"We're in great form. I hope we keep it going for as long as we can,
keep winning. Next week we've got a difficult game coming up against
Aston Villa, but if we keep winning then we'll definitely win the league,”
he told United's official website.
"Winning is a habit at Manchester United and you can only push on to the
first team if you are winning things and that's what we're doing."
