A young United Reserves side were given a first half lesson by a far more
experienced Wigan side, but the Reds can be proud of their second half
exertions.
Early goals from international strikers Julius Aghahowa and Andreas
Johansson prevented Brian McClair's side from topping the FAPRL, but
United's youngsters will take a valuable lesson from this defeat at
Robin Park.
The hosts were out of sight inside the opening 15 minutes, but it was United
who forged the game's first two chances as Dong Fangzhuo dragged one shot
wide and curled the other just wide from the edge of the area.
After seven minutes Ecuadorian international winger Antonio Valencia
smashed a superb long range effort off the crossbar and post, and Aghahowa
converted the rebound from close range.
Kieran Lee cleared off the line from Kevin Kilbane, but Johansson doubled
the Latics' lead when he raced through the United defence and fired past
Tom Heaton.
Wigan's greater experience showed as United struggled to get out of their
own half in the next 10 minutes, although Dong did well to pip Arjen De
Zeeuw to the ball before seeing his close-range effort deflected away by
Carlo Nash.
James Chester almost put through his own goal, but his goalbound deflection
was brilliantly turned over the bar by Heaton from close range.
McClair and Jim Ryan introduced Tom Cleverley and Craig Cathcart as half
time substitutes, and United acquitted themselves superbly after the
interval.
Aaron Burns almost halved the deficit just after the hour mark, but his
close range volley was superbly clawed away by Nash.
The former Manchester City stopper was heavily involved again 10 minutes
from time, bringing down the onrushing Sean Evans on the edge of the box.
Nash breathed a sigh of relief, however, as a yellow card and free kick
were awarded rather than a dismissal and penalty.
Jamie Mullan sent that free kick against the wall and Burns skewed a late
volley wide as United's final chances went begging.
A chance missed in terms of this year's title race, but an invaluable lesson
for Choccy's charges as their collective learning curve continues.

在3月7日凌晨進行的一場英格蘭預備隊聯賽中，曼聯隊客場以0-2負於維岡競技隊。
中國球員董方卓在預備隊中首發，但是未能破門，下半場第67分鐘被替換下場。
曼聯預備隊今天沒有安排一名一線隊球員出場參賽，董方卓身穿8號和博恩斯搭檔
前鋒線，相比之下，維岡預備隊的陣容有多名一線隊的球星，其中後衛德澤夫，昂斯沃
斯，前衛基爾巴尼和前鋒阿加霍瓦都是一線隊的球員。
比賽開始後2分鐘，董方卓有一次前場斷球後，帶球奔襲並晃開一名後衛以後，董方
卓在禁區前沿左腳射門，球力量不大打偏。第5分鐘，董方卓禁區前沿獲得球以後，右腳
打弧線試圖掛遠角，但是球稍微偏出。隨後的比賽中曼聯隊防守出現問題，維岡隊依靠
阿加霍瓦和約翰森的進球以2-0領先。
形勢被動的情況下曼聯隊只能依靠個人能力和對手周旋，第24分鐘，曼聯長傳前場
右路，董方卓利用速度從對方後衛身後斷球，然後一個加速殺到底線，面對對方後衛德
澤夫後董方卓利用速度晃開對手，帶球內切到門前小角度射門，但是球被門將封堵出了
底線。
第32分鐘，董方卓再次得到機會，他在葫蘆頂得到球以後，做出了一個右腳準備射
門的姿勢，然後突然右腳一扣，騙過後衛德澤夫以後，董方卓禁區線附近左腳勁射，但
是球稍微高出了橫樑。
隨後的比賽中，董方卓得到球的機會不是很多，幾次試圖在邊線擺脫都未能成功。
第43分鐘，董方卓帶球高速殺進禁區右側，就在他試圖起腳射門的同時，球被後衛及時
回防鏟出了底線。
第49分鐘，曼聯隊反擊，董方卓帶球後，在前場面對兩名後衛的突擊，他試圖從兩
人中強行突破，而沒有給兩名的接應隊友分球，結果球被回來補防的後衛出腳搶斷。
隨後的一段比賽中，曼聯隊佔據優勢但是董方卓獲得的直接攻門的機會並不多。第
65分鐘，維岡開出角球，董方卓回防到本方半場，並且在邊路及時搶斷，將對方的球破
壞了。
第67分鐘，董方卓被換下，這也是他連續兩場比賽被提前替換出場。最終曼聯隊以
0-2負於維岡競技隊，這也是董方卓參加預備隊比賽以來第一次輸球。

岡競技隊，中國球員董方卓本場比賽獲得了首發機會，但是未能破門。
本場比賽中董方卓身穿8號球衣再次出現在曼聯預備隊的首發陣容，在鋒線上搭檔小
將博恩斯，比賽中董方卓有四次射門機會，不過未能破門，下半場董方卓被提前換下。
本場比賽以後，曼聯隊官方網站對比賽進行了點評。
文章提到，董方卓在比賽開局後創造了本隊的前兩次機會，兩次都是在禁區線附近
，不過遺憾的是董方卓一次射門打高一次射門打偏。球都稍微偏出了門柱。
曼聯隊官方網站的新聞提到，維岡預備隊排出了多名有經驗的一線隊球員，這也讓
曼聯隊很難組織進攻，不過董方卓他做的很漂亮，騙過了德澤夫(維岡隊隊長，一線隊主
力後衛)以後，近距離射門被納什撲出。
德澤夫的復出是本場比賽一個關注焦點，在新年對陣布萊克本的比賽中他腳踝負傷，
休戰兩個月以後復出歸來，比賽開始以前，他成為電視台轉播時一個關注的焦點人物。
這場比賽也是維岡預備隊在北部預備隊聯賽的第一場勝利，該隊目前在排名中墊底。
曼聯依然排名第二。
