預備隊，沒能繼續保住自己在積分榜上的領先位置。中國球員董方卓首發出場打滿90分
鐘。
曼聯預備隊在上半場就被對手利用兩次快速反擊打入兩球，而他們沒有能夠在金斯
敦球場獲得進球，雖然董方卓在昨天進入曼聯隊歐冠大名單後火線增援預備隊。
雖然曼聯隊比賽前在積分榜上有一分的領先優勢，但是本場比賽這個優勢並沒有能
夠被鞏固下去，上半場曼聯隊表現的完全與他們的排名不符，僅僅20分鐘就落後於主隊
，大衛-埃德加，這位曾經在聖詹姆斯球場舉行的同曼聯隊的新年比賽中大出風頭的球員
在底線附近射門得手。而6分鐘後安迪-卡羅爾擴大了本隊的領先優勢，他依靠速度強行
突破後挑射入網。
曼聯預備隊也不是沒有機會，董方卓在禁區外的傳中非常精準，但是剛剛換上場的
馬什的射門被對方門將撲了出去。而恩加魯拉還有一次頭球攻門被對手破壞。而在錯過
了這次機會後紐卡斯爾最終成功的將2-0的比分保持到終場。

United's Reserves missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the
FAPRL North after suffering a damaging defeat at Newcastle.
The Reds succumbed to two quickfire first half goals from the hosts and
failed to score at Kingston Park, although Dong Fangzhuo did strike the
post after the interval.
There was a familiar look to United's starting line-up, with Tom Heaton
keeping goal behind a back four of Kieran Lee, Michael Lea, Craig Cathcart
and Sean Evans.
Floribert Ngalula partnered Chris Eagles in central midfield, Jamie Mullan
and Michael Barnes prowled the wings while Dong partnered Aaron Burns
upfront.
Despite the chance to build on their one-point lead at the table's summit,
United were far from their best in the first half and fell behind after 20
minutes.
David Edgar, who scored against United's senior side in the new year's day
draw at St James' Park, struck the opener from close range.
Six minutes later the hosts' lead was doubled through a fine strike from
Andy Carroll, who followed a winding run with a thumping shot past Heaton.
The United stopper was called into action shortly afterwards to deny Jonny
Godsmark and Carroll again as the hosts remained in control.
United introduced James Chester for Cathcart at half-time, and replaced
Burns with Phil Marsh shortly after the interval.
The latter was almost on the scoresheet immediately, but his rebound was
blocked after Dong had smacked the upright from outside the area.
Ngalula had a header cleared off the line shortly afterwards as United's
final chance of note went begging.
Newcastle held on to notch a comfortable victory and severly dent United's
hopes of a third successive league title.
The Reds remain top of the table, but just a point ahead of Middlesbrough
and Bolton having played an extra game, and two points clear of Manchester
City, who have two games in hand.
