Under-18s coach Paul McGuinness selected a young side to face Liverpool in
the Academy Premier League on Wednesday night, and they earned an impressive
victory over their North-west rivals.
The rearranged fixture, at The Cliff Training Ground in Salford, saw a
number of schoolboys in action for the Reds as United's current first
and second year scholars have made the step up to the Reserves.
The Reds had six schoolboys starting the match, while another two came off
the bench.
Young United striker Ajose scored the game's only goal after 71 minutes,
securing a win that takes the Reds up to fourth in the league.
Fans can pay on the gate for United's semi final second leg against Arsenal
at Old Trafford on Monday 2 April (KO 19:30 GMT). Tickets are priced ￡5
adults, ￡2 concessions.
