When and how did you discover Father Christmas wasn't real?
"My sister Linda's husband Peter, yeas ago when he was her boyfriend,
was playing Father Christmas at a Christmas party and I didn't know it
was him. So I sat on his knee and he asked me what I wanted but he just
was pissing himself all the time. Then he goes, 'Go on, take a present'.
So I put my hand in the lucky dip and took one and he said I could have
another one. And I was like, 'Fucking hell! This is weird! Why is Father
Christmas being so nice to me?' So he whispered in my ear, 'It's me, Pete!'
But I was only about five so for the next three years, I thought that my
sister's boyfriend was really Father Christmas. Every time he came round
to our house I was like, 'Fucking hell, this is amazing!' Then, weirdly,
when someone told me Father Christmas wasn't real, I really resisted
believing them because I thought, 'Bullshit, it's our Pete!' I had a
really fucked-up childhood when it came to Christmas because of that!"
